It is finally time for the best week in San Francisco...and it is called SFBeerWeek! It is going to open with the Opening Gala with plenty of breweries sporting some of their rare beers. All the way through the 15th will be beer tap takeovers, meet the brewers, and all kinds of festivities. You won't want to miss out on the AHA Rally that will be put on by Magnolia Brewery either. Sign up and join the American Homebrewers Association to get in on the mix. Too many events for us to list so we leave it to http://www.sfbeerweek.org to lead the charge with over 700 events. Check them out and make sure you have plenty of fun over the next week and few days. The team here at FollowCraftBeer will for sure. Enjoy!

There are some really good beer recipes on the horizon. I just saw a few from some of my homebrew magazines and am tempted to try it. The main one I want to try is to soak it in a whiskey barrel and age it. Has anyone ever tried that and if so where did you find a good used whiskey barrel? We here at follow craft beer are always about homebrew also and we are looking at some new recipes to brew. What is the next style we should brew to review, I was thinking some kind of sour beer, aged whiskey barrel ale, or maybe some type of citra IPA. I don't know but I am pumped to brew some new style of beer that I have not brewed before. Brew on homebrewers!

I have had fun with some of these summer beers such as nice blondes, sours, or any fruit beers that you have when the sun is abundant. That time is over now, and it is time to switch up you taste palette. Don't get me wrong, I love a good sour, blonde, or just something light but once it gets colder I do love some thicker beers. A perfect way to introduce the new season is with some of these great pumpkin beers that come out during this time. I know that one of the best will probably be by Dogfish but there are many others out there. Recently I had an Imperial Pumpkin by Lakefront Brewery and it was simply amazing. My main point, don't stick with the usual. Part of loving craft beer is to keep evolving and change with the seasons. There will be plenty of craft beers that you may not want to drink during the summer but will be perfect to drink during the late fall and winter times. This is the time to experiment with your palette and make sure you try to find some good beers during this harvest time leading into the winter time.

Ah autumn is upon is and winter is around the corner. With that comes family gatherings, cold evenings, short days and longer nights. Out of these dark nights micro breweries are helping to illuminate the dining room with their artistic creations to help warm the soul. So many breweries are pushing the envelope with their interpretation on winter classics and us craft beer followers are reaping the benefits. I personally can't wait to gather at the table with family, enjoy great conversation and company and enjoy these modern day comfort foods in a glass.

What a hard time coming back to reality after some great times in Denver for the GABF. But, there is always a silver lining with everything and we had some great beer and new cool things we found. First off, craft crawler is a pretty awesome website and we cannot wait for the app, that is in beta right now, to hurry up and launch. There is nothing cooler than to be able to pull an app that shows you where the closest breweries are to you and exactly what they have there to offer. When I am traveling, I always make a point to find some new brewery to check out and expose myself to. There should be quite a few events popping up this October and we will try hard to keep up with everything current. Once again, if you guys know of some great spots or breweries for us to visit and post about just email us and we will jump right on it.

What a way to kick off the GABF yesterday, we had a blast to start out the week! Big shout out to the places we went yesterday Falling Rock Taphouse, Stoney's Bar and Grill, and Freshcraft. We were able to get some really good beers at the tap takeover at Falling Rock and met some good people from some of the breweries. Stoney's had a great bbq for free that had some rattlesnake, game hen, rabbit, bison ribs and more. Our waitress was pretty awesome and she really took good care of us, great service over there. What a way to cap off the night at Freshcraft for their crazy list of beers on tap, and some not on the list. Plenty of good local brewers were there enjoying the atmosphere and I must say it was a blast. I am pretty sure we will be back there some other time this week. Cheers!

What a relief to find some great craft beer spots opening up. I was out in Dublin, CA and found a nice spot with some awesome beers on tap and bottled beers to buy. Caps N Taps was pretty awesome. You can check out their website at www.capsandtapsdublin.com/ and they also have their twitter handles on the webpage as well. Really pumped up right now and if anyone has been to Denver for the Great American Beer Festival will know why I am pumped. It is just around the corner and there will be so many events going on the whole week and you get to enjoy the festival all at the same time. I love California, but let me tell you Denver is pretty awesome and just might have the best craft beer following there. Anyways, just a little of what is on my mind and we will give you updates on some great stuff that is going to be happening in Denver and when we get back we look to find some awesome new spots and breweries!
